Alcohol Team

Our Alcohol Team supports anyone whose main substance is alcohol, or alcohol and non-opiates. We offer community and inpatient detox programmes, group work, and relapse prevention support, including medication if needed. We also focus on health and wellbeing, helping people make positive lifestyle changes. The team covers the whole of the Wirral and works in a range of places, including community hubs, medical settings, and local spaces, so support is easy to access. 

Assessment & Entry into Service (EiS) Team

The Assessment & EiS Team is the first point of contact for people coming into our service. They complete assessments and support people through their assessment and first medical reviews. The EiS Team work with people using opiates during their first four weeks, helping them through assessments, medical appointments, and getting stable on a prescription if that’s the right choice for them.

Community Integration & Criminal Justice Team

This team supports people who are involved with the criminal justice system. They’re based in probation offices and hubs and work closely with probation, courts, and the police. A big part of their role is helping people leaving prison, making sure they get straight into treatment and have the support they need. They also work with people on Alcohol Treatment Requirements (ATRs) and Drug Treatment Requirements (DTRs). The team has strong links with Merseyside Police and County Lines teams to help keep people safe and connected to the right services. 

Counselling Team

Our Counselling Team offers in-house counselling through the Change Grow Live Cheshire & Merseyside Counselling Service. They specialise in supporting people affected by substance use, helping them explore their experiences and find new ways to cope. 

Employment & Training Team

Run by Recovery Works (The Growth Company), this team helps people find work, training, and volunteering opportunities. They support with CV writing, interview preparation, and building confidence. The team offers an Individual Placement Support (IPS) programme, tailored to each person’s needs, and provides ongoing support after someone starts a job, helping them stay in work. 

Groups Team

The Groups Team runs a wide range of group sessions and workshops, from art therapy to structured rehab and recovery groups. They also support people through community detox programmes. Whatever stage someone is at in their recovery, there’s a group that can help. 

Health & Wellbeing Team

This team helps people improve their physical and mental health. They run COPD clinics, wellbeing courses, walking groups, and a community allotment project. There’s also a fully equipped gym with personal trainers running classes and open sessions. They offer NHS Health Checks and support people through the RISE Programme (Recovery, Independence, Support, Education), a three-month programme for those who are abstinent and ready to move forward. 

Health Care Team

Our Health Care Team supports people with complex health needs, including end-of-life care. There is a women’s worker, trained as an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA), who supports vulnerable women and sex workers. The team works closely with hospitals, hospices, GPs, and pharmacies to make sure people get the care they need. A Pharmacy and Primary Care Worker provides extra support around medication and healthcare. 

Housing Team

Finding and keeping a safe place to live is important in recovery. Our Housing Team helps people with housing advice, applications, and accessing Property Pool Plus. They work closely with local housing associations to make sure people get the right support. 

Non-Opiates Team

This team supports people using non-opiate substances, offering one-to-one support and group sessions both in-person and online. They help people explore their substance use, set goals, and make positive changes. 

Nursing, Medical & Clinical Team

This team includes healthcare assistants, nurses, Non-Medical Prescribers (NMPs), GPs, doctors, and prescribers. They provide medical appointments, prescribing, and testing for BBVs, HIV, and STIs. They also carry out ECGs and blood tests to monitor people’s health. 

Opiate Team

The Opiate Team supports people who use opiates, offering prescribing, Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST), and psychosocial support. There are two teams covering the whole of the Wirral, making sure people can get help wherever they are. The team also runs an innovative Buvidal project, offering a different prescribing option for people who want it. 

Outreach Team

The Outreach Team works with people who might struggle to access services. They include a Street Outreach Team, Hostels Team (with a dedicated nurse), and a Re-engagement Team helping people reconnect with support. There are also attrition workers, a Young Adult Worker, and an EiS Team based within Outreach. A specialist worker supports people using prescribed and over-the-counter opiates. 

RISE Team
Think Family Team

This team supports parents and families affected by substance use. They work with anyone who has children under 18 and have a specialist pregnancy worker to support expectant mums. The team has strong links with social services and safeguarding teams, making sure families get the right help. 

Volunteering Team

We have an outstanding volunteer programme that helps people gain skills, experience, and accredited qualifications. Volunteers can access accredited training, development opportunities, and student placements, helping them build their confidence and make a real difference.
